I discovered the significance of ethnic studies. It's true that the minority population in the United States will soon become the majority. Those who understand these cultures and its people have the upper hand in becoming a leader. It seems obvious, but without the conference, I would not have even known what to tell others the importance of ethnic studies.
Anyway, I was on the second row. There were a few performers whose names I can't recall except for Kristina Wong, a comedian.
I also went to the Student of Color Conference this weekend, but I didn't bring my camera. I also skipped the rally because I was lame. Seriously. I can't believe I missed it. It was the march of over 1000 UC and CSU students to the federal building in protesting about student fees increasing along with enrollment being cut.
Although it does seem nice to have the classes all to ourselves if the student population doesn't grow, it's NOT worth sacrificing opportunities of prospective students.
